Hello everyone!
I've read the classic book: "The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy" written by Douglas Adams.
This is one of my favorite book series of all time. It's just so out of the ordinary!
The book is a comdey science fiction that's part of a series of books written by Douglas Adams.
However "The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy" is the first book.
The reflection that I've choosen to give all of you is: "I'd rather be happy than right any day."
If we look at the phrase "Ignorace is bliss" which means: lack of knowledgement results in happiness.
For example how can I be sad about the economy if I know nothing about it. The question that I would like to ask all of you is: Would you be happy than right? Would you like to live in a world and not no anything about everything? It would atleast make me alot more comfortable in everyday life, not to have to worry about everything all the time.
We are always being exposed to negative information through media, when was the last time you heard good news on TV or read it in the newspaper. When I read a newpaper I always try to find the part where the positive news printed. But sadly alot of times there are none. My opinion is when you are being bombarded with bad news all the time you will get effected by it.
I think that this is the highlight that Douglas Adams tries to inflict on his reades and make us understand how Arthur(the main character in The Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy) feels since he is constantly bombarded with bad news. Since Arthus is kind of a smartass, he thinks that he is always right.
If you haven't read this book I highly recommend that you read it. It's a masterpiece it's so unorthodox and its very very good. I hope some of you will atleast play with the thought of rather being happy than right.
Good bye!

Online reflection 2
I have now watched both ted clips.
I can relate to the clip "Life in the digital now". I don't know if I'm alone about this but, everytime that my phone runs out or battery or my laptop indicates that it's time to charge I get a small feeling of stress. I don't know if this is normal or not but I do believe that this is something that I have "recived" from my line or education because I am constantly sourrounded by technologhy and I need technologhy to make an impact either online or at work or even in school since I am a programmer. I spend approximately ten to twelve hours a day infront of the computer so for it's a natural thing.
I see digital connectivity as a positive thing, I can go online at any given time and find out a recipe for a food dish instead of having to call my grandmother in the middle of the night and ask her how to make lasange or whatever.
With that being said I agree with some of the things that Abha Dawesar, online you don't have time to process things you are being hit with information every second. And it's also a great tool for taking time away from you, I can spend hours on reading crappy articles instead of doing something more produktive like reading or spending time with my family. This is a matter of discipline for me atleast, as long as you understand and acknowledge the fact that you spent three hours on reading someones blog about what they ate for breakfast. So all you need to do is to take control of your time and spend it wisely so that you don't miss out on the real experiences!
Aboout the other ted clip with Andrew McAfee. This is my reflection, driods taking our jobs isn't necessarily a bad thing. The future is bound to that stage where everything is automated, where we instead of using "manual labour" control devices that perfrom manual labour, this is just a bad example but think about the movie Minority Report or I robot where the cars are fully automated, I personally love this idea imagne just getting in your car and pressing one button, and arrive at work without haven driven a singel mile.
So the future jobs will in my opinion mostly consist of managing and control all of these "driods".

I have now read the article about a city without cars. I believe that what the article states is bound to happen. In every major city this is already being applied, people don't need a car or any other sort of personal transportation, they manage just fine by taking the bus or the subway. I assume people are doing this because it is a convinience. You don't have to park the car or fill it up with petrol. But this only applies to the bigger cities, say New York or Tokyo.
In some places in the world it is already inconvinient to own a car. If you look at London which is the most expensive place in the world to park a car for a month. To park a car in London you will have to pay around $1000 to park your car for one month.
I personally do not use personal transportation all that much, I live in a small town outside of Karlstad I've been traveling with public transportation all my life and I haven't really had any problems with it at all. The only thing that I can complain about is the time schedule of the busses. The only major change this bring to my life is that if forces me to plan my days and this is not a bad thing.
But I also feel that before you ban cars or anything even remotly close to that, you are better of trying to change the mindset of the citizens. You will never be able to change peoples minds if the people doesn't want to change their minds. So in conclusion, I think that the idea of having a city without cars is good and that it is bound to happend eventually, but I don't think that you can force people into using public transports.
